Nah, you don’t seem to understand. Because you don’t seem to acknowledge that Iranians and other middle easterners have longer, more hooked noses compared to Europeans. Despite whatever you said about Europeans being the same people who came from the Middle East. It’s obvious that Europeans now look very different, and other peoples too, despite having common origins in Africa. Fact: White beauty is in, and has been for a long time. I’m not advocating it but that’s the truth.

I also think every ethnicity has their own beauties. But generally speaking, middle easterners and even Mediterranean people (greek, italian) have a more aquiline nose (nasal bone juts higher) and that does not fit into the Anglo Saxon Hollywood ideal that the world is so crazy about. It is true that some White people have aquiline noses but to a much lesser extent, and it’s probably from mixing with non-western european peoples. ps, we all came from africa but isolation made the “races” unique.

Who has a hooked nose? really? Middle Eastern people are basically the same people who moved up into Europe 36,000 years ago, or whatever it was. There’s all kinds of beauty, black, white, asian, mediterranean etc. We’re all pretty . . well, can be anyway=) I think it’s silly to “white wash” what nature has made distinct. Do we all really want to look the same? . . . I guess we do.

They aren’t saying it’s a “western” quality to want to look pretty, they’re saying that beauty = western standards. Look at these Iranian women: they have hooked noses and once they get it reduced, they have a nose more similar to that of a European. “pandering to the western idea of the body beautiful”. I guess he meant “western ideal”. Secondly, how can you pander to an idea? or even ideal? You can only pander to people. And nobody in Iran is pandering to anybody in the west. Just doesn’t make sense. I suppose now the “west” (whoever that is) is going to be blamed for the rise in plastic surgery in Iran. sigh! Most people in the USA are against plastic surgery. Brazil, Philippines, Japan have 10x more surgeries, per 1000 people.
