Are the prices for cosmetic surgery in the US and UK relative or is it cheaper in the US, if so, why?

   I am an Indian plastic surgeon and have had the opportunity to treat scores of overseas patients from Australia, US and Europe over the past 15 years. They all come back again and get their friends and relatives in tow.
   I practice at Chandigarh which has maximum people with relatives in USA and hence get a large number of such patients. What amazes them is superior results at a third of the price.

   i think it is more expensive in the US because it is a lucrative business. people see money signs and soon enough there are plastic surgeons popping up in 7-11’s to save on overhead!

   i dont know a boob job runs around 3000, a body lift is 12,000. i dont know what the prices are in the UK.

   Cosmetic Surgery is very cheap in India.There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges cosmetic surgery for foreigners in India.They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance.They also have photos pasted of their International patients.You can checkout their website.The cost savings are incredible.As a doctor i personally believe that your cosmetic surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world.The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.If you still havent got your surgery done,you are better off getting it done in India.

   cosmetic surgery is cheaper in the US. In the Uk it isn’t as socially exceptable to have the surgery therefore its not as lucrative a market as the US. This in turn means in the UK there arn’t as many companies offering the surgery and therefore they don’t need to keep prices down to beat their competitors for the business. US $3000, UK $7000 for an average breast implant.
