How do people get cosmetic procedures covered by Tricare?
My husband is in the army and after having our two little girls, I would like to have a tummy tuck. I have Yahoo Answered the topic and most people have answered that you can be covered by Tricare if you have hadGastric Bypass.
I grew up Military and know for a FACT that women had breast augmentation, tummy tucks, and other cosmetic procedures covered by Tricare.
Does anyone know what the loophole is? Please only those who has or knows someone who has had Tricare covered cosmetic procedures.
I was in the Air Force for 8 years and worked in surgery. If I remember correctly, it has to be tied to a mental health issue. What I mean by that is that I know of active duty females that had breast augmentation due to the fact that they had "mental health issues" associated with having small breasts. I know it sounds silly, and a huge waste of tax dollars, but that is how it went down. I’m sure if you looked into it you could work a similar type of deal.
